McDonnell Douglas FA-18 Hornet —
This photo was taken at the VERY FIRST show where the Blue Angels flew their new F18 SUPER HORNET. The show was at the Sun N Fun Aerospace expo in Lakeland Florida April 2021. I believe this photo captures the essence of what the Blue Angels are about. Precision flying and outstanding aircraft. I used 600mm of Canon lens and the camera settings were 1/8000 F5.6 ISO 800. The Blue's do what they do and is always awesome. The whole F/A 18 series is a second rate aircraft to F14, F15, F16 to name a few.
I was there! They are awesome machines - a little bit larger than the original F18’s. Great show and super pics!
Anybody notice the PERFECT synchronization of the rudders? That's precision flying!
