Airbus A350-900 (9V-SHN)

I’d at first rejected this photo for posting as it was quite noisy and suffered from some distance ground effect distortion - just over 1.7 km / 1 mile from my position.

The morning was cold (about 2 deg C / 35 F), dead calm, and a haze had settled as can be seen. The sun had only just risen but a bank of middle level cloud in the east above the hills all but obscured it and kept things quite dim, therefore needing a higher ISO than preferred (and then I had to lighten the picture a little as well). There was just a thin gap between some of the clouds and as luck would have it, just in the right place to allow a couple of glint spots on the plane.

Naw...photo views are the shooters angle - an Airport is an airport and one has to try their best based on weather, runway usage and camera gear must be at the ready. The heat vapor miraging off the engine exhaust it very evident and very cool! 5x

Thanks Tom. This wasn't taken with that BIG lens, but a lighter smaller Sigma 100-400 mm at 320 mm (= 480 on the DX camera). Both lenses are pretty new for me so spring/summer/fall are going to be interesting with earlier sunrise.
