Brings back lots of memories... I flew one every week for a couple of years hauling light freight to Nassau, Bahamas back in the early 1970's.. It was an early model with a right hand passenger door.
a real work horse. First flight by me was from Surabaja, Indonesia to Batavia(Djakarta), Indonesia on the DC3 (C-47 U.S.A.F.). This aircraft does not crash. It has a 5to 1 gliding capability.
Dennis Merola, That right hand side door made it an AA aircraft. Little did we know back then we'd be working at AA there in MIA!!! Good memories from OPF!! My best to Rosa and the fond memories of Sal. Might you have the N-number or serial on that plane you flew back then. Morty
Stunning!!! Were the wings augmented on this version? Seems as though the wing tips extend beyond earlier designs. Perhaps just an aberration attributable to the shot angle. Nonetheless, I love this photo. Thanks to Thomas D.
