I want one!! I'd use this to "thin out" the daily traffic congestion on I-80. I'd only use that little black object that is visible just under the nose. One or two passes over the highway should do it ....

After numerous delays, the new Top Gun: Maverick movie is out and will be released for public viewing in theaters on May 27. As a few of you know, I was at NAS Fallon when some sequences of the movie were being filmed. When I was positioning near the runway to begin a photo session, an F-18 was on approach, so I clicked it as it went by a few feet away. It was a two-seater and the individual in the rear seat was waving. As it went past, I realized the jet was wearing a very unique paint scheme. After it went by and landed, I was approached and informed that I had to delete my photos. Apparently, that F-18 was late returning to NFL and should have already landed and been parked from public view. After a discussion, I was permitted to keep the pics but I had to promise not to post any or widely disseminate the pics until the Top Gun sequel movie was released in theaters. Then COVID came along, so the release date kept getting delayed.
As a result of the delays, only a VERY, VERY few aviation photog enthusiast friends have seen a certain photo of a certain individual in a certain F-18 waving to me as he was returning from a filming session well over two years ago.
Now I will finally be able to widely share my picture. Although I will NOT (for obvious reasons) be posting it in FA's photo gallery, there are a number of FA members who have supported me over the past decade by viewing my amateur photos and expressing kind comments, and I am eager to offer to send it to them. I realize it isn't much, but it IS a rather unique photo that they may enjoy seeing and perhaps having. Unfortunately, I don't have an e/m addy for them.
A couple of you already have it. Several others will be receiving it in their e/m (because I already have their e/m addy) on the day the movie hits theaters. And then there are many wonderful folks such as Darryl Sarno, Serge Loth, Masonite, Jorgiane K., etc., etc. etc. who have viewed my contributions and, whether my pics were good or poor, continued to support me.
To those folks, I offer to send my photo of Tom Cruise waving as he sits in the F-18 that will be seen in the movie as it lands right in front of me. If you are interested in receiving it, post a brief reply here telling me you will be e/mailing me (so I can watch for your legitimate e/mail) .... and then e/m me at [email protected] .
As I said, it's not much, but it is one way for me to say Thanks to those who have been such fine friends to me here on FA.

I love this shot, Gary! But that little black object isn't really all that little when you see the whole thing. I agree, it would do a job on the traffic on I-80, though! And I will shoot you an email. Take care, eh!
