Very cool shot Ed!
What's up, Doc?
Imagine losing 200 B-29s in the effort to stop WWII in the Pacific!
We have a picture of my late father-in-law, Lt. Col. Ernest E.Booth and his crew standing outside of their B-29 after 55 missions over Korea.
Awesome shot. Would love to see and hear one in the air above. Got to rummage around in the fuselage of Enola Gay many years ago during restoration work. Two workers had just pulled up a floor panel and found a sextant laying there for no telling how many years. Felt the strangest feeling the first time I touched her nose....
When I was very young I used to run outside and watch them come over our house in S.E. Kansas. There was so many that you could hear them coming many miles away. The sky was almost black because of their number. Now I think back and wonder how many came home. I know they made a lot of them and lost a lot. My hat is off to great that flew them and all the men who manned her guns.
