Never flew one but always wish I had. Wrong pipeline. Luck of the draw. Ended up in seaplanes and that was an awesome experience. The 1950s were a long time ago, it seems.

I went thru Pensacola in 1956 in the SNJ pipeline. Old school
luck of the draw as the other pipe line was T-34 and T-28
Everyone who flew the Navy T-28 loved it. Lots of power
