I spent a lot of hours inspecting X998 and X999 the static test aircraft during C5 production startup

Great foto !!!

It always surprises me how squat this thing is--low--close to the ground--puts me in mind of a short fat troll.

It awed me as to how much that bird could take in and still use less than 6000' to get off the ground in. I have been within 1250' of the centerline of the runway and heard them neither land nor take off.

What a frog of an airplane! Not only catches flies, but flies!
