No one will ever notice a red warbird. Nice shot...

This livery was a repaint for Canada's 150th birthday. It was also used on an RCAF CF18 during the 2017 celebration year. The CT133 was used as a solo airshow demonstrator a/c from 1958-1969. It was known as the "Red Knight" hence the image on the forward fuselage. For the centennial year numerous Canadian Maple Leafs have been painted on the CF18, while the CT133 has the 'white' outlined version you see here. There were over a dozen pilots during it's original tenure with a former CO of mine (Bob Hallowell) being the first. There were actually two aircraft with a collision happening early on, which for various reasons forced the operation to use only one aircraft. Later the CT144 Tudor replaced the Silver Star in this role. It also performed frequently with Canada's 'Golden Hawk' demonstration team flying Sabres. This aircraft was a trainer and hence never expected to be a combat aircraft, hence the 'red' was not an issue.

Well, it IS a trainer, after all...think T-33. AND the red colour was helpful to me when I encountered one of these just off the coast of Nova Scotia south of halifax in 1981. I was minding my own business at 500' in a C172 and he approached at about 90 degrees to my course. Don't know if he saw me, but I saw him VERY clearly. And yes, that IS a stylized maple leaf on the belly. AND the logo on the nose is that of the "aerobatic demonstration team," the RCAF's Red Knights.

I believe this one is operated by the Jet Aircraft Museum out of London, Ontario. This photo was taken at Air Show London 2018.
Nice shot !!!
