Checkered tail usually means it's a Cessna Aerobat. Which means some of the maneuvers I did would be legal in this 152. Fond memories of the 150/152. You always remember your first.

I trained in 150s. Sigh. That's a beautiful example and I would NOT be ashamed to own it. :-) That's not including my crosswind landings, those were a shame, boy howdy did I learn a lesson or two about that in all the Spam cans I flew!

I got my solo ticket in '64 before the 150 had a rear window! I cut out the $5.00 "Learn to Fly" coupon from "Flying Magazine" and $12 an hour every Saturday, started lessons at Lantana Air Field in Lantana, FL. I soloed at 8 hrs. 2 hrs earlier than the normal 10, according to my instructor. Wow! What memories!
