Summer of 1967 riding along the highway close to Moffett NAS caught the sight of some P3s coming and going, got to stop and enjopy the scene. Did it a number of times for the pure joy of it before moving back to NY. I still miss it. And a few of them re still flying from other bases. Great plane.

I used to build the engines for these, among smaller gas turbines for Bell LongRangers, etc.at the GM plants in Maywood/Indpls., In. It was very intense work,, q/c inspectors over your shoulder. Test cells ran 3 tests altogether then we packed engines In vacuum sealed containers for shipping to gov. or commercial customers. I also build the hydrostats, part of the Abrams MBT.
