Pilot Sues Continental Express
An Atlantic Southeast Airlines pilot has filed a lawsuit against codeshare partner Continental Express claiming retaliation against him and ruin of his professional reputation. The suit claims the pilot was targeted because he took precautionary action during severe weather conditions, costing the company money. Which is why I don't fly on Regionals anymore. Not because of the lack of training, its the threat of being fired from your job for making a safety related decision. I'd be curious to see how many other flights were diverted that day due to weather.
As a pilot, I tend to take sides with pilots. However, it never hurts to have both sides of the story. Let's wait a few years to see how this plays out in the legal system.

I work for a regional, on the ground. And this is classic sop of Regional Airline management. Its all about the company making money, never mind the morality of how the employee is treated.
From the video Flying Cheap on Frontline, "Move the rig." Seems like this is the phrase used in most of the regional airlines. That really needs to change. Safety needs to be put first!
Most of us here have probably heard enough regional airline horror stories that this isn't a shock at all.
