Southwest Airlines Computer Glitch Causes Long Ticket Lines At LAX

送信時刻:

LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (CBSLA.com) — A nationwide glitch in the Southwest Airlines computer system forced ticket agents at LAX to manually process and hand-write tickets on Sunday, leading to long lines for passengers. The Los Angeles Airport Police Department told arriving passengers on Sunday to expect delays. Security camera footage showed a long line for passengers at Southwest ticket desks. Passengers were being asked to arrive 2 hours prior to their flights. (losangeles.cbslocal.com) さらに...

I was on the departure level at LAX yesterday to drop someone off, and saw long lines of travelers at the Southwest terminal outside of the building. Undoubtedly the inside of the terminal was filled to capacity as well. In the hot weather we are having (15-20 degrees above average), standing outside in the sun and waiting in line for hours must have resulted in an unusually miserable travel experience.

Nobody is perfect not even computers. They can spring traps beyond anyone's capabilities and that's being proven. I was in BNE/YBBN for reasons unknown this is a common occurrence there either it's Qantas or Jetstar and Virgin Australia have these glitches what a crowd they get and the Language that comes out of people's mouths you could make a soap TV program out of it such as the Young and the Useless or is it restless Bold and the Beautiful

True, but I can tell you is a computer professional that many companies don't pay nearly enough attention to software quality, resulting in problems like this. Of course, once something blows up in their face like this then there's no end of money to try and put the horses back in the barn.

At least SWA did not, like some other carriers, simply cancel a whole bunch of flights. SWA made the effort to get people where the needed to go.
