A380 superjumbo on world's longest flight
The world's largest passenger aircraft is now flying the world's longest route after Qantas replaced its Boeing 747s with Airbus A380 superjumbos on the Sydney-Dallas route. The flight covers a whopping 13,800 kilometres and takes a little more than 15 hours. This was not unanticipated, but when did DFW become qualified for the 380? I knew they were in process but I apparently have missed somehthing. Was this the inaugural flight?
DFW qualified Sept.2014..first flight in was Quantas on Sept 29th early afternoon..second in was Emirates on Oct.1 early morning..both are being served out of terminal D
An impressive technical aviation achievement and useful for some, but I would go insane. Even the 7+ hours YYZ - LHR overnight tests my limit.
I was fine on the 9+ hrs from YYZ to GRU.anything more and its time to sleep
