Lockheed C-130 Hercules (97-1468)
A CalANG C-130J Super Hercules (97-1468) of the 146th Airlift Wing (Channel Islands Air National Guard Station adjacent to NAS Point Mugu, Oxnard, CA) is off Reno Tahoe International's runway 16R and on the climb to begin a flight to March Air Reserve Base, CA. In the background, a pair of 152nd AW "High Rollers" Hercs are baking on the NevANG ramp - although the official air temperature was 98 degrees, the temperature on the runways, taxiways, and parking aprons was well up into triple digits.
Comments
The sun was blazing down and it was brutal hot out there, but it was well worth a bit of sweat (and a bunch of sunscreen) to wait for this one to take off. The Super Herc is awesome.
Gary - I do genuinely appreciate your patience to endure the hot Nevada blazing sun and triple digit blistering heat. Your photo capture of these Hercs, as always, is superlative!!! :-)
